Modernism 1922 explores the worlds of film, literature, music, politics and more 100 years ago.
The Bristol Ideas Modernism 1922 project is run as a tribute to Kevin Jackson. His book, Constellation of Genius: 1922: Modernism and All That Jazz, tells the story of that remarkable year.
1922 saw the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses and T S Elliot’s The Waste Land, the first year of consistently significant silent film releases, and many important artworks. We’ll be exploring this year of cultural significance in film screenings, discussions and new commissions.
