Melanie Vaxevanakis is an activist and the founder of The MAZI Project, a Bristol based charity empowering marginalised young people through food.

Prior to starting TMP, Melanie worked in documentary filmmaking and photography, working on programmes for BBC, National Geographic and having her photos featured on Vogue.com. Melanie has always felt passionately about giving a voice to marginalised communities and at 24 felt she could have the most impact supporting vulnerable 16 – 25 year olds. Using her passion for food and it’s power, Melanie aims to change the food provision system, ensuring choice, sustainability and nutrition are the centre.
