What is Film? by Lucie Birnie

Lucie Birnie created this film as part of the Film2021 project, which celebrated Bristol as a world-renowned centre for film-making and also explored wider social, technological and creative issues relating to cinema.

Lucy Birnie is a recent graduate from the University of Gloucestershire, dedicated to producing unique and interesting visual socially-focused films. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she feels the drive to tell stories that so often get overlooked by mainstream media. Born in Bristol she has moved back since completing her degree. She enjoys acting and writing alongside filmmaking and is currently working on a number of new and exciting LGBTQ+ films.
